XProtean is currently seeking qualified J2EE developers that will play a vital role in designing; architecting and creating robust and highly-scalable web services based applications by following some industry standard development methodologies. As a member of this team you will define requirements, design and implement sub-systems and modules for XProtean’s renowned product suite. Primary Responsibilities :

• Implement (code), unit test, and deploy multi-tiered enterprise software and solutions.
• Analyze system performance, tune applications and optimize code.
• Translate business needs into technical requirements.
• Works with a team to develop, refractor and continuously improve.
• Meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Communicates with peers and management through appropriate documentation and training.
• Able to lead code reviews and provide valuable feedback on performance, logic and maintenance issues.
• Assists in release of projects in production environment.
• Participate in the resolution of challenging and demanding problems.
• Suggests new technologies and approaches, often demonstrating and championing their use.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively deliver messages, both internal and external to the organization.

Essential Functions and Skills :

• 7+ years of server-side application development experience for enterprise class web applications using J2EE technologies.
• Solid understanding and experience in J2EE platform including EJB, JDBC, JMS, Servlets, XML, Web Services / SOAP etc.
• IDE and development tools (JBuilder, Toad, Ant, Jira, Net Beans etc.)
• Track record of designing and developing scalable web applications.
• Experience using industry standard methodologies like RUP, UML, XP, J2EE design patterns and MVC.
• Strong SQL skills are a must (Database design experience is a big plus).
• Experience developing complex UIs in JSP and Servlets, good knowledge of Web UI frameworks such as Struts
• Experience in complex, data-driven, multithreaded and distributed web application development.
• In-depth understanding of standard internet infrastructure, protocols and technologies.
• Experience creating build scripts, release management, and web based application deployments.
• Knowledge of web application technologies (HTML, Java Script, CSS, Struts).
• At least 2+ years of experience with Web 2.0 technologies

Education and Experience :

• Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent (MS Preferred)
• Excellent working knowledge of 3 tier application architecture demonstrating expertise in all the three levels of web based product development.
• Strong relational database design and development skills.
• Expertise on OOD and OOP concepts.
  Experience with web technologies like XML, XAML, XSLT, AJAX, SSL, Web Services etc.
• Development and design experience of Retail, Payment and Accounting software is a big plus.
