Director of Technology, CA

XProtean is seeking to fill a Director of Technology position in its Milpitas, CA headquarters.

Primary Responsibilities :

• Create and manage processes to support an appropriate software development lifecycle (SDLC) for XProtean’s software development, QA and support teams.
• Define and manage the scope of releases.
• Quality control of all levels of project management to ensure successful releases.
• Study current technology trends in the industry and propose solutions.
• Manage teams across geographies (US and India) and monitor projects to completion, in time and with available budget.
• Communicate with technology partners and lead integration projects
• Architect and build out a Software as a Service offering of the XProtean products

• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Supervision of team members and ability to make right decisions in time.
• Prepare and present recommendations, issues and project reports.
• Ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical teams
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively deliver messages, both internal and external to the organization.
• Proven track record of managing people and multiple projects simultaneously.

Education and Experience :

• Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in software development
• Experience with software development of .NET applications in C#, VB and VC++.
• Preferable experience with Retail Management, Electronic Payment Processing and Point of Sale applications.
• Excellent working knowledge of 3 tier application architecture demonstrating expertise in all the three levels of web based product development.
• Strong relational database design and development skills.
• Expertise with OOD and OOP concepts.
• Experience with web technologies like XML, XAML, XSLT, AJAX, SSL, Web Services etc.
