Director of Engineering
XProtean is currently seeking a Director of Engineering to lead
its offshore software development facility in Bangalore, India.
This position will be responsible for the end-to-end offshore
development effort driven by requirements from the Corporate HQ
in the US. This includes design, development, Quality Assurance
and Release Management of the complete XProtean product line.
The candidate shall have experience with the complete software
product development life cycle for enterprise software. Experience
in Retail Management, Electronic Payment Processing and Point
of Sale applications is a plus. The candidate shall have excellent
verbal and written communication skills and should be willing
to accept a fast paced and dynamic work environment. We are looking
for someone with a demonstrated track record of managing people
and multiple projects simultaneously.
Primary Responsibilities :

Establish a successful workflow management for the software
and support teams by adapting to standards.

Establish a strong methodology and processes for planning
and executing product development.

Quality control of all levels of project management to further
enhance company reputation.

Study current technology trends in the industry and propose
solutions based on appropriate technologies
Manage cross functional teams that drive projects to completion,
in time and within budget.

Communicate with technology partners and work on integration
projects.

Support the sales organization with demonstrations, presentations,
training and other necessary collateral

Work closely with the Product Development team in US
Essential Skills :
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Strong technical background that enables mentoring of developers
on the team
- Project and release management for an enterprise software product
- Ability to take high-level business and strategic goals and
translate them into efficient product ideas.
- Self learner and ability to prioritize responsibilities based
on the critical equirements from sales teams.
- Supervision of assigned team members to project tasks and ability
to make right decisions in time.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively
deliver messages, both internal and external to the organization.
Education & Experience :
- Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Minimum 8 years of experience.
- Excellent working knowledge of 3 tier application architecture
demonstrating expertise in all the three levels of web based product
development.
- Strong relational database design and development skills.
- Expertise on OOD and OOP concepts.
- Experience with web technologies like XML, XAML, XSLT, AJAX,
SSL, Web Services etc.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience with Microsoft based tools and
technologies.Retail, Hospitality, Supply Chain or POS industry
experiences a plus.
- Business Intelligence, Data Archive and Data Mining knowledge.
