Jag Kapoor
Chief Executive Officer
A serial entrepreneur, Jag Kapoor is acclaimed as a "Guru"
in the Franchising business with a reputation of creating strong
retail brands and turning around distressed businesses into profitable
ventures. Starting with one convenience store in 1980's, Jag is
the Chairman of Kapoor Enterprises, which as a "Franchisor"
has 60+ locations, which include C-Stores, Restaurants and General
Retail stores.
Jag’s involvement in the software development industry started
as a primary investor in Silicon Valley based companies. He founded XProtean in 2003 to fulfill
a lifelong passion to bridge the technological void present in the
small format store retail industry.
Manav Misra
Chief Operating Officer
In his most recent role prior to XProtean, Manav was a Co-Founder
and VP of Strategy for StorePerform Technologies which was sold
to RedPrairie Corporation. StorePerform helped establish the space
of Store Execution Management: software that helps retailers successfully
manage the execution of tasks and initiatives across their whole
chain of stores. StorePerform counted some of the largest retailers
among its customers, including six of the top fifteen retailers
in the US.
Prior to co-founding StorePerform, Manav was the Senior Director
of Strategy at KBToys.com and was actively involved in the acquisition
of eToys. Manav also had the role of Senior Director of Business
Intelligence at KBToys.com during which time he led the BI team
in building a data warehouse, decision support system, and analytics
tools.
Earlier, he was a professor of computer science at the Colorado
School of Mines where he performed research in Intelligent Systems
and High Performance Computing. His specific interests were in data
analytics, and mining large data sets. He has a BS from the Indian
Institute of Technology (Kanpur) and a Ph.D. from the University
of Southern California.
Vikas Jain
EVP Business Development & Corporate Marketing
Vikas joined XProtean with an exceptional track record in the
technology and consulting space. Prior to joining XProtean, Vikas
was part of the founding team at Systech Integrators (acquired by
ACS in Oct 2006). At Systech Integrators, he managed business development
activities for the West Coast and led marketing/alliance initiatives
for the entire organization. Under his leadership, the West Coast
business was the No. 1 revenue producing region from inception to
acquisition. Before Systech, Vikas was a strategy management consultant
in a high profile internal consulting group that reported directly
to the CEO of American Express. He has a BS from the Punjab Engineering
College (India), an MS from Tulane University and an MBA from Yale
University.
